Proficiency Science at Carson High is a course designed to help students who are learning or reviewing
material for the Nevada test that is now required for earning a high school diploma. The course is based
on the Nevada Performance Standards as published by the Nevada Department of Education, on an as
needed basis, to include: Nature of Science, Physical Science, Life Science, and Earth Science. Test taking 
strategies and study skills will be taught to help students prepare for future exam opportunities.
Completion of the class does not guarantee success on the High School Proficiency Science Exam.

However, Mr. Bean and Ms. Schneider believe that all students who are focused and work hard have the best 
chances for passing. The class will be divided into 2-sections; lab/activities and study/testing. Students 
will spend half the class in one section then switch to the other.

1. Follow all Carson High Rules and Regulations
2. Mr. Bean's interpretation of grades:
	A = More than likely to pass test
	B = Likely to pass test

3. Grading:
	a) Online Tests wil have about a 20% curve
	b) Cumalative Review
	c) Labs
